My Condolences. Thomas P. Krohn, K3IJ SK SK May 31, 2015 Thomas P. Krohn, 71, of Hazle Township died Sunday morning May 31, 2015 at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia. He was born in Hazleton, son of the late Paul L. and Mary (Klesh) Krohn. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. A veteran of the Air Force, he served from 1964 to 1968 with Detachment 1, 507th Supply Squadron, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of American Legion Post 795, Drums. An avid amateur radio operator, he was a charter member of the Anthracite Repeater Association, a lifetime member of ARRL, and a Radiological Emergency Response volunteer. Prior to retiring, he was an electronics technician with Syntronics Technology. He is survived by his wife, the former Sara M. (Michael) Krohn; his daughters, Lisa Platow and her husband, Eric, Harleysville; and Rebecca Kokinda and her husband, Damian, Alexandria, Va.; his sisters, Carol Rogus, York; and Mary Paula Krohn, Hazleton; five grandchildren, Zoe and Ty Platow and Noah, Maya and Elena Kokinda; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, Hazle Township. Interment will follow in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
