    Joseph S. Cannova, KE9K SK

Joseph S. Cannova of Freeport, IL passed away peacefully Saturday, November 18, 2023 at age 79. He was born May 5, 1944 to the late Vincent and Marie (Puccio) Cannova.
Joe married an angel June 1, 1963 and shared 58 years of marriage with the late Sandra J. (Boles) Cannova. Together they raised two sons.
A carpenter by trade, Joe for years enjoyed street-rodding, connecting worldwide via ham radio, and comedic riffing with family and friends (especially with his brother Tony).
The man could command a room without even trying but at times chose to, shall we say, limit his number of social engagements. A true troubleshooting genius.

Joe is survived by his sons Vincent (John DeCola) Cannova of Lynnfield, MA, Shell (Shawn) Cannova of Forreston, IL; sister-in law Marsha Kerkhoff of Freeport; sister-in-law Tana Huffstutler of Matthews, MO; grandchildren Miranda, Travis, Bryanna and Trista; and great grandchildren Teion and Zadah. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Anthony, wife Sandra and brother-in-law Richard Kerkhoff.

A private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
