Ham Radio Deluxe News: Ham Radio Deluxe Version 6.3.438 Released
Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; St. Paul, MN

    October 27, 2105
HRD Software, LLC announces the release of Version 6.3.0.438 today. This is a maintenance release for HRD that addresses a variety of fixes as well as new enhancements. Everyone that has purchased HRD since February 2012 will get the fixes at no charge.

In this latest release, developers addressed a few issues including the addition of the IC7700-V2 and IC7800-V2 firmware support providing for VFO B. The Logbook IOTA Island issue was fixed and will now add to the database and the fix for the IOTA country lookup within Digital Master was added. Logbook now allows an option to not create the “HRD My Logbook” ODBC DSN by default, which will allow many users to use their callsigns for the logbooks. The customers with Icom radios that experienced lockup issues with the CIV Transceive on, the timing issue has been resolved

An update regarding recent issues with integration of JTAlert and HRD, we found that JTAlert was writing directly to our database, bypassing the API. It has proven to cause issues with our customer’s databases. In order to protect our customers, we had to disable the use of JTAlert until the issue is resolved, thereby lessening the chances of corrupting the entire logbook database. We are working with the author of JTAlert to have him change to the API code to add records to HRD, rather than writing directly to the database.

Finally, we are pleased to welcome a new company to the HRD Dealer Network – CheapHam.com. They join our other dealers Ham Radio Outlet, DX Engineering, AES, and Gigaparts. We appreciate our growing vendor network!

As always, Ham Radio Deluxe is free to try before you buy for 30 days. HRD will run under wine in Linux. Takes some doing, but can be made to work. Personally, I decided to just dedicate a PC running windows.
