    Ham Radio Deluxe
    Tampa, FL — July 22, 2015

It’s been a busy month for the Ham Radio Deluxe Team with events, travel, web shows, development and more!

Earlier in July, technical support specialist Katie Allen, WY7YL appeared on Ham Nation with Valerie Hotzfeld, NV9L to provide a demonstration of Ham Radio Deluxe. Anyone that didn’t catch it live can find a link to the show on our Facebook page:
    https://www.facebook.com/HamRadioDeluxe

This presentation led to the beginning development of online training/presentations that will be available to clubs both live and available on our YouTube an d Facebook pages. Support manager Tim Browning, KB3NPH and Katie Allen, WY7YL will be developing this program and expect to have the first session available in August as a test-meeting on our Facebook page. The date will be announced there.

Owner Rick Ruhl, W4PC attended the Ham Jam at the Anaheim HRO store and was thrilled to meet many customers and provide demonstrations of the software. A special thank you goes out to HRO Anaheim store manager Janet Margelli, KL7MF for the opportunity.

Work continues on new features for the software, in particular JT65. With the addition of John Henry, KI4JPL to our development team, we have been able to add more attention to these much desired upgrades for our customers. It is a rather long and extensive upgrade and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to add this to our program.

HRD extended support now includes the UK with Robin Mosley, G1MHU. New support hours begin at 6:00AM EST and stay open until 7 PM EST Monday through Thursday and until 6:00PM EST on Friday. Our support team has been busy assisting customers with many configuration issues, which seems to be the main need for support.

Finally, a new support option is now available. It is the “Single Incident Support” for those customers with HRD Version 6 that need assistance for that one problem they just haven’t been able to resolve on their own, and may not desire to purchase a full year of additional support. The cost is only $19.95.

The July special is available for just another week. With the purchase of your new license, you will receive
three free months of support and upgrades – no coupon needed! As always, Ham Radio Deluxe is free to try before you buy for 30 days with 30 days of free support. Try it today!

I have been using HRD since Simon had it and have always kept it current. It's a very nice suite of programs. I wanted to let you know what would really add value to it.
As SDR user's, we do not need a RCP (Radio Control Program). ) It would be very useful for us to run DM780 and Logbook as stand alone applications. (Such as DX Lab Apps allow.) This way resources would not be waisted on the CAT line degrading system performance. The work around for now is Minideluxe and DDUTIL. It would be a significant upgrade for HRD to allow access to these apps directly from SSDR and other RCP's.

Thank you for your consideration. Dan KM6CQ

Will HRD ever be translated into German language ?

It would be GREAT that it would upload also to QRZ.com logbook whithout the need to do that trough a ADIF2 file.
Like it does to E-QSL and LOTW Clublog and HRDLOG. or is there already a way to do so?

    Dan,

We have given the Flex guys the spec to do an HRD server.. it would be all TCPIP... Also, you dont have to connect to the radio, there are options to not to automatically connect with the radio in the connection screen.

DK5EW, German, Spanish etc are all in the plans, but that would also require support in those languages, the more we sell, the more people we can contract with to take care of much of this.

PA3FW, yes this is in the plans...

If you are going to add JT65, I hope you will include JT9, a slightly more robust, and much narrower mode. As it is now, JT65 signals are often wall to wall in the waterfall when a band is open.

Including JT9 would be the responsible thing to do, as when JT65 is added to DM780 it will kindle interest in these modes from those who have never tried it, but are familiar with PSK31 and other modes in DM780.

JT65 is in the works, but as I said before, it's a long process. Took Joe Large two years to convert Joe Taylors code to JT65HF , and we are taking the same time and care in porting the code over from Fortran to C++.

And yes, it will include JT9, thats in the source already

Thanks. That's great news. Hopefully it will interface with, or include JT Alert or a similar program.
    I will re-up when it's released.
