Dutch 2 meter propagation experiment on local television

On Friday July 19 the local television station Omroep Flevoland will pay attention to the 2 meter propagation experiment held on July 20.

In a full hour broadcast, free to air and internet, Johan PA3JEM will explain why it is important that the 2 meter band must stay exclusive for the radio amateur services.

The local telecom administrator answered – in a request from IARU society VERON to vote against the French proposal – that this French proposal Proposal PTA(19)090R1 fits the Dutch frequency policy. But a final decision is not made yet. The NVC (National preparation committee) has to make their final decision in the next meeting.

“Real usage of the 2 meter band by radio amateurs and the compatibility of shared usage has to be looked at closely.” Agentschap Telecom said.

So let’s get busy on the 2 meter band on July 20 form 17.00 utc till 19.00 utc and send your log to Clublog.org. Or for the contesters participate in te CQ WW VHF contest and send an adif to clublog.org also.

The Omroep Flevoland broadcast can be followed on the internet via the link https://www.omroepflevoland.nl
