Don't Forget WINTER FIELD DAY!!!

The contest runs for 24 hours during the last full weekend in January each year from 1700 UTC (12:00 noon EST) Saturday to 1700 UTC (12:00 noon EST) Sunday. For 2016, the dates are January 30 and 31, 2016. Station set up may begin no earlier than 1300 UTC (8:00 AM EST) on January 30, 2016.

Right at the same time as the CQ 160 Meter CW Contest

 

Wouldn't be the first time there are two or more events at the same time. Is it a problem?

 

Might not be a big deal, there won't be a lot of 160m activity during the day.

 

Not to rub it in, but summer or winter field days are barefoot events (no pun intended) in S. FL.

 

Curtsy is the key here…for those who are joining in and those who are not. I always notice a lot of friction between the two groups. NOT GOOD.

Anything, any time is great time to be on the rig.

 

Any particular bands or frequencies to listen on???

 

Get on the VHF/UHF bands too. If you only have FM get on the popular simplex frequencies and call CQ. Seems like 160 cw will yield an unusually good number of contacts as well.

 

I am excited as it is my first WFD as a ham!!! I hope to get at least 50 QSO's in!!
