I will be activating my HOTA station (Hams On The Air) this weekend. HOTA to HOTA contacts preferred. Rather than using the boring old school CQ, listen for my snappy CQ HOTA.
maybe not the best timing, maybe not so bad either... we have not yet decided whether to activate the SS Red Oak Victory NY6CI for Museum Ships Weekend. I will try to round up the usual crew.
BOTA looks fun. The more OTA activities the better, IMO. But the satellite guys put dibs on one of the best tongue-in-cheeky events & its acronym - Walmart Parking Lots ie WMPLOTA Hope they get it back up this July after taking The Pandemic Year off.
Let's not forget ROTA. Not Rota, Spain, but Routers On The Air for the IP crowd on DMR/Death-Star/Echolink/IRLP. Sometimes confused with RVs On The Air - ROTA.
