Sometimes called the "open house" of amateur radio, Field Day is where over 35,000 radio amateurs get on the air to make contact with other stations, demonstrate the art and science of radio, and practice emergency mode communication. It's a great opportunity for unlicensed or newly licensed people to learn more about amateur radio, and for those who have been around for a long time to share their enthusiasm and to help others to learn what makes the service so interesting.
