    Fellow Amateur Radio Operator:

I'd like to introduce you to my daughter, KD7QKT, who is a Junior in High School. She is a German I student, and an active Amateur Radio Operator. She has been the Secretary of the Brinnon Amateur Radio School Club ( http://hfradio.org/barsc/ ), and has been very helpful in teaching, with the club and through 4H, Amateur Radio to many students. She's been active in Field Day, too - for a number of years. She's even made front page news in a local Newspaper, for field day work.

Ashley has an opportunity to travel with a group of students, this summer, to Germany and several surrounding countries. She will be bringing two-meter radio equipment, and operating while there. She plans on meeting with several German Radio clubs/groups, and being active on local repeaters, and hoping to meet with a group or two.

By doing so, she is hoping to represent the US Amateur Youth to the German community, and to extend goodwill from the United States. Of course, this is a great learning experience for her. Next year, during her Senior year, she will be teaching German to 6th grade students.

She has a website regarding her trip. Her page is at http://hfradio.org/kd7qkt/ - please stop by.

She is also hoping to raise her trip funds through help from the Amateur Radio Community. There's information on the website about this, too.

One thing that we're trying to work out is what specific equipment she will be bringing with her. She will be using DC/KD7QKT (portable) as her callsign, while in Germany.

    Again, please stop by. http://hfradio.org/kd7qkt/

    Thanks,

    Tomas (NW7US)
