This is a GREAT post. Alabama is a wonderful state. I have been there many times and always enjoy myself.
Thank you Madam Governor for recognizing ham radio.

Now if the Governor would just do something about HOA antenna restrictions. That would actually benefit ham radio.

Pick out house in HOA area, sign HOA agreement document, move in then continually whine about it. Yep it's a ham radio thing. Three choices:

    1. Don't move into an HOA area
    2. Start to like 2M
    3. Learn to code

My HOA agreement does not have any antenna restrictions but the ARRL's parity act would allow the HOA to re-write my contract to put restrictions in after the fact. It must be nice to live out in the boonies where there are no HOA's, or jobs, or hospitals, or groceries, or life of any kind. So go back to painting your old tractor tire planter in the front yard and power washing your ratty mobile home. Take your three choices and put them where sun don't shine.

    1. Thank you for your asinine comment but it's not helpful.

    2. 2 meters is for old farts like yourself to bitch about no-coders and their latest doctor visit.
    3. I routinely have HF conversations at 30wpm, I fail to see what code has to do with HOA restrictions.
    4. Many hams are affected by restrictions, some became hams after moving into an HOA. TV antennas can not be restricted.
    5. I built my house before the HOA came, but they still try to bully me out of my antenna.
