I wanted to share my Hustler 6btv to Flagpole antenna conversion for those in an HOA who are tired of taking their antenna down all the time. I added a few zip ties, a lightweight flag, and a salute to my Hustler and I have it up 24/7, even though everyone can see it. The antenna loses its factory 'wind rating' with the flag but I just tilt it down when big storms come through, even though it has withstood up to 48mph gusts. Hopefully this gives some HOA operators an idea to keeping an antenna up 24/7!

HOA can ban your antenna but not if it's a flagpole! Here's what I did 7 years ago with my Hustler vertical and it is up 24/7.

That's not a flagpole. There is no pulley and rope to raise and lower the flag.

Glad you are able to get on the air!! Best Wishes 73 K2HAT

Thanks, It's on a tilt base so I can raise or lower any time! I could add a plastic pulley and rope but I don't see the point. It isn't taken down every night and put up every morning, only replaced if it gets worn. 73

Flag etiquette requires the flag to be illuminated if flown after sunset. Just saying..

Even a small flag will quickly destroy this antenna.

When this point was made earlier, I swear the OP said in another post that he has a solar spotlight pointing up at it. Other replies I read earlier seem to have gone missing as well.

In addition to needing to be illuminated at night; flag etiquette rules also indicate it must be waterproof if flown in bad weather.

This Hustler WITH a flag has been up 95% of the time for at least 7 years and still tuned 2.1:1 or better, 7 bands actually not just 6. The only thing I changed from the first install was remove the metal connector and replaced with zip ties. It is not ruining the antenna.

I understand now. I didn't realize there was another separate post. It felt a little like déjà vu. :p

No worries, it's actually a different video. The original and the updated one. The other one shows closer how it's attached.
