I do not consider the American South and Texas places that anyone should visit, Remember the several hundred thousand dead soldiers of the Grand Army of the Republic. (Not true, the South's a wonderful place to visit with very kind, hospitable people, great cuisine, etc. So is Vietnam for that matter. I just posted this to show how silly you sound.) Back on topic, I worked 3W9A twice in late 2023, once on 10m on SSB and once on 15m on FT8.
I agree, but according to the SSA, it’s one of the top 5 countries outside the US where payments are sent twice a month…lots of American expats there. Personally I would love to have the money and free time to travel the world playing radio, but as a working stiff that’s not in the cards…
I lived in Vietnam for several years and met many former US servicemen who visited or lived there. All of them have moved on from the tragic events that took place during the war. Similarly, Vietnamese people no longer hold any animosity towards Americans.
IF YOU SAY SO…..!!!!! Iam still waiting for MIA’s I lived thier for 2yrs 6 mos. 3 days and 21 hrs. K8PG Paul - USN Spec ops. ret.
I'm curious how KU1CW was able to afford all of that travel and ham equipment? He's spent a lifetime traveling the world. I guess he must have inherited a fortune.
Or he could be working as an English teacher in Vietnam right now. Or perhaps, he invested well and travels cheaply, or owns a few patents from being a genius and selling ideas for toasters.
Can't believe this thread is still active. Lot of hate and politics that should be behind the pay wall or not at all.
