FCC reduced it to $35.00 per actionable application.... https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC-20-184A1.pdf
I consider that a bargain. My Belize license is $30 per year. Now it's time to hear all the complaining...... HI
Pretty long thread already running on this topic: https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/amateur-radio-license-fees-to-be-35.741854/ Dave W7UUU
Yeah, What Joe said! $35 isn't so bad. You guys should see license fees for some of the other radio services! I'll just let you look them up .... buckle in if you want a commercial broadcasting license!! Just sayin' Personally, I was worried it was gonna be in the $100 range ... with a "privilege fee" for Extra Class operators!
Nailed it ... and that's only 750 ml .... and I'm assuming you're a single-malt man ... Macallan's 750 ml bottle goes for 70 bucks even around these parts!
Oh, I get it .... that's supposed to be some kind of put-down. LOL - I had to do a little research on the latest natterings from the mommy's basement set.
Really? that's you're reply....."ok Boomer" .....sadness As to the topic, I was ok with A fee just not 50$. The 35$ mark is a little higher than I feel it should be but its better than 50$. Now if only we could get this fee to actually go to the FCC and not their overlords that would be great.
Mandated by Congress, signed by the President in 2017. That was the FCC's reasoning. I don't totally buy it but see where they are coming from.
