Team / 1 setiembre

A las 19:00Z del sábado, el equipo CY9C tenía 66.400 Q en el registro. La tabla de posiciones se abrió en Clublog. Las condiciones de la banda siguen siendo un desafío, especialmente en 10 y 12 metros. El equipo instaló una antena de 60 metros el sábado y está activo en esa banda. Habrá un poco más de actividad SSB en los próximos días. Toda la actividad FT8 continúa en el modo Fox/Hound habitual. Todos los miembros del equipo están bien y trabajarán arduamente para que todos estén en el registro.

As of 1900Z on Saturday, the CY9C team had 66,400 Q's in the log. The Leaderboard was opened on Clublog. Band conditions continue to be a challenge, especially on 10 and 12 meters. The team installed a 60 meter antenna on Saturday and is active on that band. There will be a little more SSB activity in the coming days. All FT8 activity continues on the regular Fox/Hound mode. All team members are well and will be working hard to get everyone in the log.

A las 10:00Z del martes, el CY9C tenía 91.828 contactos en el registro. Hay un registro de 40 metros que se cargará en Clublog. Aquellos a los que les falten contactos en 40 metros, tengan paciencia, ya que ese registro se cargará pronto. El viento en la isla es fuerte hoy, pero hasta ahora no se han encontrado problemas. Esta mañana se envió otra carga de equipo no esencial a Dingwall, Nueva Escocia. El equipo continúa preparándose para una salida el jueves desde St Paul.

As of 1000Z on Tuesday, CY9C has 91,828 contacts in the log. There is a 40-meter log which will be uploaded to Clublog. Those with missing contacts on 40 please be patient as that log will be uploaded soon. The wind on the island is strong today, but so far, no issues have been encountered. Another load of non-essential gear was sent back to Dingwall, Nova Scotia this morning. The team continues to prepare for a Thursday departure from St Paul.

¡Finalmente llegué a mi QTH anoche y descubrí algo muy interesante!
(¡No tiene nada que ver con el DXing!)
Esto es uno de los beneficios de ser un DXpeditioner... si quieres perder peso, ¡haz una DXpedition! Cuando salí de casa para St. Paul, pesaba 187 libras (84,8 Ks). Anoche, pesaba 176 libras (79,8 Ks)...!! Odio esas comidas liofilizadas y volví a tomar solo una al día.
Espero que te hayas divertido tanto persiguiéndonos como nosotros tratando de incluirte en el registro. Y muchas gracias por tu cortesía. Los pile up fueron enormes, pero con tu excelente cortesía/etiqueta ¡fueron divertidos! ¡Fuiste GENIAL! ¡Gracias!

I finally got to my QTH last evening and found out something very interesting!
(Nothing to do with DXing!)
Here is one of the benefits of being a DXpeditioner.... if you want to lose weight, go on a DXpedition! When I left home for St. Paul, I weighed 187 pounds (84.8Ks). Last night, I weighed, 176 pounds (79.8Ks)....!!
I hate those freeze dried meals and reverted to having just one a day.
I hope you had as much fun chasing us and we did trying to get you in the log. And a BIG thanks for your courtesy. The pile-ups were huge but with your outstanding courtesy/ etiquette they were fun! You were GREAT! Thank you!

Sumario

Bill, K5DHY, informa que el OQRS ya está abierto para CY9C. Si es posible, sea generoso con las donaciones. Esta fue la primera expedición DX de CY9 que costó más de $100 000. El equipo de CY9C utilizó dos helicópteros y un barco para transportar el equipo y a los miembros del equipo a la isla. Un agradecimiento especial a Air Dolan y Breton Air Services por el apoyo del helicóptero, así como a Greg Lawrence por el transporte en barco. Se transportaron más de cuatro toneladas de equipo, materiales y suministros a la isla de St. Paul. ¡Al día de hoy, el recuento total de Qso asciende a 114 842! Bill, K5DHY, reports that OQRS is now open for CY9C. If possible, please be generous with donations. This was the first CY9 DXpedition that cost $100K+. The CY9C team utilized two helicopters as well as a boat to transport gear and team members to the island. Special thanks to Air Dolan and Breton Air Services for the helicopter support as well as Greg Lawrence for the boat transportation. Over four tons of gear, materials and supplies were transported to St Paul Island. As of today, the total Q count stands at 114,842! Thanks to all who were in the pileups. We experienced very interesting propagation during the DXpedition. Disturbed geomagnetic conditions were experienced for 3-4 days during the 10.5 days on the island. This reduced the number of Q's during those days. The team rotated operating shifts for the duration of the DXpedition. Overall, the weather was reasonably good during the time on the island with strong winds and occasional rain at times. St Paul is very exposed to the wind but the team's new tents held up very well during the wind events.

Las tarjetas QSL de CY9C llegaron de Franklin Printing el miércoles 13 de noviembre. K5DHY y WA4DAN comenzaron a trabajar inmediatamente en las miles de solicitudes de tarjetas. El primer lote de tarjetas se enviará por correo a los DX'ers el jueves 14 por la mañana. La QSL del CY9C es una tarjeta de seis paneles, doblada, que contiene información sobre la isla de St. Paul y tantas fotos como pudimos colocar en la tarjeta. Ten paciencia con el proceso de QSL. Cientos de tarjetas ingresarán al sistema postal todos los días hasta que se complete el proceso. ¡Gracias nuevamente de parte del equipo de DXpedition del CY9C!

The CY9C QSL cards arrived from Franklin Printing on Wednesday, November 13. K5DHY and WA4DAN immediately began working on the thousands of requests for cards. The first batch of cards will be mailed out to deserving DX'ers on Thursday morning, the 14th. The CY9C QSL is a six panel, double folded card that is packed with information on St Paul Island and with as many photos as we could place on the card. Please be patient with the QSL process. Hundreds of cards will be going into the postal system everyday until the process is complete. Thanks again from the CY9C DXpedition team!
