I HAD THE PLEASURE OF HAVING A FB QSO WID GLENN BACK IN SEPT OF 2010. GLENN WAS A TOP NOTCH CW OPERATOR. OVER THE YEARS WE HAD NUMEROUS QSOs. GLENN HAD TWO SONS FROM A PREVIOUS MARRIAGE AND THEY ARE BOTH IN THE ARMY. GLENN WAS DISABLED AND WORKED FOR GTE/VERIZON AS A CABLE SPLICER. GLENN ALWAYS FOLLOWED UP OUR QSOs WITH A LOTW CONFIRMATION. GOD REST HIS SOUL RESPECTFULLY,
Glen was a close and terrific friend. We used to chat exclusively on CW, but towards the end it became regular phone calls. I can't tell you how many times I have picked up the phone to call and then back to reality. Glen's wife Susan was at his side when he passed in his sleep. 43 years together and she never left his side. For those of you that want to send a card to Susan, she loves receiving them and talks about them with a certain amount of joy to see how many friends Glen made over the years. He had a treally heroic fight with his cancer and did everything he could to be with us today. Just wasn't possible. God rest and 73, phil
I met Glen in person when in Kingman last Nov. Been to his place that used to be shown on his page here on QRZ.COM. I certainly do miss him. We flew his done there, the same one he used to take those photos. We used to rag chew on CW quite often. Why the change in the last week or so, with no mention of him being a SK on his page? Photos are gone. Same with Alan , AC2k, also now a SK, who I have met several times at his place in Tucson. -Don- AA6GA/7 Reno, NV
