While you are at the arrl site, find books and gear. Order the technician license manual, read and study... Go to "getting your license" and chose exam practice and practice. 73
Here on QRZ, you can take practice tests, after studying, to help identify what areas you need to bone up on. Good luck to you. Ed
Hello John, You can find more information in the forums below. Becoming an Amateur Radio Operator/Upgrading Privi Amateur Radio Clubs Amateur Radio License Test Schedules Here is also some contact information for Albuquerque clubs. Good luck on your exam. 73, Lisa
I agree on the first two, but there is generally nothing wrong with most of 75m. Sure some of the groups that hang out there don't care too much for drop-ins (especially unamplified stations, as the band is rather noisy a lot of time and 100W will only work on good nights), but many do, and some are even inviting. I have also had plenty of good QSOs just calling CQ on 75m. In fact, I think we need MORE people calling CQ on 75m (and everywhere else).
I agree more CQ in 75m. Strictly a social comment on a certain frequency normally used by Mr. Wizards of wonderment.
