    iHAB-9 Launch Announcement

    The iHAB Team is excited to announce the next launch of the iHAB Project! iHAB-9 is scheduled to launch February 16, 2013 at 16:00Z (9AM CDT). In conjunction with Engineers Week 2013, sponsored by Cedar Valley Amateur Radio Club (CVARC), Collins Amateur Radio Club (CARC), and Rockwell Collins Inc in Cedar Rapids, the Iowa High Altitude Balloon Project.

    Engineers Week celebrates the positive contributions engineers make to society and is a catalyst for outreach across the country to kids and adults alike. Engineers Week is part of many corporate and government cultures and is celebrated on every U.S. engineering college campus.

    This year’s Engineers Week theme celebrates you—engineers, engineering students, and technicians—and all of the amazing things you do everyday to make the world a better place. Launch

    Payload includes a new "micro" 20 Meter QRP CW beacon designed and built by Dave Cripe - NM0S, Hi-Def Video, and 1.2Ghz live video downlink. The CW beacon controller is a new version (not yet available for purchase) of the EZKeyer from 4SQRP. The EZKeyer v2 has expanded memories, AND beacon mode!

    [h=5]WooHoo - iHAB-9 payload was found! After almost 3 months after the launch in Feb, the iHAB-9 balloon and payload was found today in a farm field south of Aledo, Ill. More details to come later today.[/h]
