FCC has lost control.
ARRL? SMH: https://wireless-girl.com/FCCrulemaking.html
Bonnie, you need to meet AB2RA, a real "wireless girl".
I'd like to see some kind of organization that does compliance checking. Not for certification, which is easy enough to sidestep after the fact, but something like random checks. Obviously, it would be a huge effort and expen$ive. Passing products would get listed, like UL.
A man can dream, anyway.
Hi Kar-Arne.....I concur 100% with your comments on the scientific community. I do a lot of instrumentation experiments in support of HAARP and other entities, and I think these would be powerful allies.
Maybe the IARU could ally with the broadcasters........there's nothing like BIG MONEY to get your point across........mediumwave AM broadcasting suffers the most from interference by these unintentional radiators, the vast majority of which seem to be switching power supplies. Of course, this would do very little to reduce interference that comes directly from ISM devices, but it would be a good start........
No its not the cookies that I am raising concerns with - Its the expense-account cigar-smoking at meetings in far away lands such as Egypt and the funds/resources needed to send people physically to these conferences.
The IARU significantly underwrites costs of Australians attending conferences.... and we are not alone. The costs must be significant !
If rather than physical presence perhaps modern E-Facilities were used then perhaps the $10M (which is extremely over inflated) to start acting professionally could be raised? There is only so much that Amateurs and Amateur-ego can do!
Sometimes Professionals who stake their business and reputations on success need to be employed to achieve better outcomes. Amateurs are Amateurs; while we continue to think small and think that we can do this and resource this ourselves we will be walked all over ...
The best example is J.K. Rowling on this subject; mediocre books on mediocre subjects - but the money she spent using professional publicist(s) created a phenomenon.
You is preachin to the choir, reverend.
Ofcom in the UK as useless, when it comes to such things!
Our Completely Ineffective bought-and-paid-for Congress could easily pass a bill to have random checks done
at taxpayer supported technical colleges and back that up with tariffs for non-compliance........
IF they worked for WE THE PEOPLE.....
