    DUB RICHARD

    BELWOOD-W.C. "Dub" Richard, 87, of 118 Horseshoe Lane, Belwood, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.

    Born Jan. 9, 1929, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Johnnie Isaac Richard and Annie Lou Ivester Richard. He was retired from Drexel Heritage and was a lifelong member of Knob Creek United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher and church council chairman. After retiring, he enjoyed working at Cleveland County Recycling Center at Polkville. Mr. Richard was also a member of Fallston Masonic Lodge#356 and the Shelby Amateur Radio Club. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, fishing and spending time at the family campsite at Lake James.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Wayne Crotts.

    Survivors include his wife, Mallie Sain Richard of 68 years; son and daughter-in-law, Steen and Lorinda Richard of Lawndale; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Billy Hoyle; two sisters, Sarah Crotts and Peggy and Paul Grigg all of Lawndale; grandchildren, Todd Hoyle, Angie and Steve Weathers, Amy Richard and Scott and Jackie Richard; great-grandchildren, Dale and Amanda Hoyle, Amber and Aydin Beseli, Charles Hoyle, Billy Barrett, Abigail Richard and Deacon Richard, great-great-grandchildren, Lane Hoyle and Allison Hoyle.

    The visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home.

    The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Juston Smith.

    Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
