    Harry D. Vorhauer, W4PVA passed away on Dec. 23, 2004. He is survived his loving wife Viola E. Vorhauer;his children, grandchildren. and also six great-grandchildren,

    He was a Navy Veteran of W.W. II and also participated in the Doolittle Raid, Battle of Coral Sea, and Anzio Invasion. He was a member of the W.W. II Thunderbirds. He served on the Saratogo, Enterprise, Yorktown. He owned his own business, Triangle Radio & TV in Chincoteague, Va. He was a 34-year employee of Melpar/E Systems/Raytheon as a Senior Engineer.

    He was a 50-year member of the American Radio League and a founder of "Ole Virginia Hams" Amateur Radio Club, Manassas, Va. He taught hundreds of people the necessary course work to qualify for amateur radio licenses. He was involved in emergency radio communications and a Red Cross volunteer. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

    He will be greatly missed

    I knew Harry well. W4PVA was an active member of the Virginia Sideband Net for a number of years and was always present at public service activities. He was often the voice of the Manassas Hamfest, making announcements and giving on-air directions to the hamfest via talkin on the local repeater. WB4FDT
