W4O Oliver Hardy & GB9SL Stan Laurel Special Event Stations

The Amateur Radio Club of Columbia County (ARCCC) will operate Special Event Station W4O, on October 5th and 6th 2018 (and possibly a few days before and after) in honor of the 30th Annual Oliver Hardy Festival in Harlem, GA.

Additionally, Furness Amateur Radio Society (FARS) will operate Special Event Station GB9SL, on October 6th 2018, to honor Oliver Hardy's companion Stan Laurel!

Harlem Georgia is the birthplace of Oliver Hardy - one half of the classic Hollywood team Laurel and Hardy - that had audiences laughing from the 1920s to 1950s. Every October, Harlem, which is located 20 miles west of Augusta, Georgia, hosts the Oliver Hardy Festival, which usually attracts more than 30,000 visitors.
