Steven J. Dombrowski, WB2ZUQ SK Steven J. Dombrowski, 70 of Albany, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 11, 2021, while vacationing in Aruba. Steve was born in Passaic, N.J., the son of the late Walter John Dombrowski and Jean Hildenbrandt Dombrowski. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and attended Rutgers University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.). He was then employed by R.P.I. for 42 years until the present as a support engineer. Steve had been a member of the Voorheesville Kiwanis Club, served as a Boy Scout leader, and for many years, served as the club advisor to the R.P.I. Amateur Radio Club. Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Sharen Dascher-Dombrowski; his son, Todd F. Dombrowski, M.D. and his wife, Thais M. Dombrowski of Keene, N.H.; his daughter, Ashlee Jane Wood and her husband John J. Wood of Clifton Park; his grandchildren, Mason J. and Megan J. Dombrowski, and Katelyn and Madison Wood; his sister, Sandra Kuzmich and her husband Tom Kuzmich of Asheville, N.C.; and his niece, Chrissy Kuzmich. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Fred L. Dascher Jr. and Jane Seim Dascher. Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany on Monday at 11 a.m., and from there to St. Matthew and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1500 Western Ave., Albany at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12-3 p.m. Interment will be in the Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
