Hi Emil These boards are usually silkscreened with labels for each of the pins. I’m sure they have a standard pinout arrangement because they are for programming microcontroller boards. Viewed from the top my boards are from left to right: DTR / RX / TX / VCC / CTS / GND I have used RX, TX and Ground DTR and CTS are for handshaking if required. The boards need to be TTL (5volts and Ground) not RS232 (+12volts and – 12volts) I hope this helps. 73 Martin
A better option is to buy the cable with the FTDI chipset built in already. Its neater and all you have to do is add the 1/8 mono plug and your good to go and it can be extended with just a patch cable . Dave N8DC
