Not ALL communications. I just came in from putting the 17-meter stinger on my car's HF mast. Didn't hear a thing so I keyed up and said "AC4RD testing"--and my neighbor's car alarm started screaming. :-/ Probably just a coincidence.
It looks like a ghost town out there. http://www.dxmaps.com/spots/mapg.php?Lan=&Frec=&ML=&Map=&HF=&DXC=ING2&GL=
My first thought was dang it I got hit by lightning since I was out of town and didn't disco my antennas. But a quick push of the tune button said everything is good. Looked at the solar weather report and bingo we are in a black out, even most of the JT signals are nill. So much for checking in on the Kenwood net today, I guess I'll go back back to watching Irma.
Wow! Just got home from Saratoga ham fest, turned on HF - NOTHING! Came to here to confirm I'm not the only one. Won a Gigaparts hat in door prize drawing, so that's good. Heard a vhf contester on 146.55 on the ride home, maybe I'll give that a look. Cheers!
The bad part is that it is also affecting the hurricane nets. I was listening to one of them on 20m and......bam. Gone.
