    Hi,
I have plans to visit DM29 grid square for off-road trip . Because of very rare grid I will take VHF/UHF equipment with me(HF also)
    Possible antennas set:
    4el for 6m
    1x10el for 144MHz
    1x10el for 430Mhz
    1x35 for 1200MHz
    APRS call: W6BVB-7

I have 2x10el QRP EME set for 144 and portable SAT system, but my cargo area is limited. If my XYL desided stay home then it is a posibility hi hi.

here is the preliminary schedule for the trip, but if conditions will be good I will be dedicated to HAM activity almost all time:

    1) Optional, for those who has time: Friday, July 3rd, around 4PM, we are getting together in Eureka, NV, at this location:

    http://www.co.eureka.nv.us/tourism/museum01.htm

We are going to take a look at the historical Eureka mining town: short walk around the town, pumping gas, visiting a restraunt etc.

    2) Mandatory: we all are getting to the campground: 6PM-7PM on Friday, July 3rd, at this location:

    http://www.campingguidenevada.com/cgnes/listingNORES2.asp?campcode=NVWHIILL

This campground is located very closely to the trail beginning (FR401), just a mile from the highway 50.

    3) Saturday and Sunday: we are exploring the historical mining district around the Treasure Hill and Mt. Hamilton (Hamilton, Treasure City, Eberhardt, Shermantown, Monte Cristo). We will be camping there for two nights. This area is around 5 miles across, and we will be able to explore it on foot or in vehicles, depending on the local conditions. This place is very lonely and remote, so please bring everything you may need.

    4) Monday, July 6th: we are proceeding south, to the state route 6. We will be there around noon. Then we will start driving home.

Let me know if anybody interested to schedule QSO.

    Vlad.

    Grid expedition

    Vlad,
Maybe you already have done this but for dxpeditions to rare grids you should consider coordinating with the Fred Fish Memorial Award yahoo group. I am sure that there are a lot of guys who will want to work you who are in range.
You might want to post a notice to this group:

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FFMA/

I can always hope that there will be some eskip on six meters.

Will you have capability for WSJT meteor scatter work? It's too far for the east coast, but I'm sure there are a bunch of guys farther west you could work on 6 and 2 meters using meteor scatter that would be really happy to work you. You could post a notice to this group

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wsjtgroup/

Or also on the pingjockey coordination site:

    http://www.pingjockey.net/cgi-bin/pingtalk

I hope that you have fun on your grid expedition.

    Harry,

Yes, I will have equipment for meteor scatter work.
Hope we will have some rocks.
By the way, it will be absolutely no internet connection for me from DM29.
    Vlad.

After testing QRP setup for mobile operations we decided to use K3 instead of FT817. We will use about 50W for mobile.

    DM29

Knowing this, I need to be more active on 6m. I am about the only local (if not the only one) that is active on 6m in DM29. Before the winter E season gets going, I will have a 5 element yagi put up.
