The Tri-County Amateur Radio Club will once again be operating a portable HF station LIVE FROM THE CABOOSE in downtown Thomasville during the annual Everybody's Day celebration. From 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2014, downtown Thomasville will be filled with live music, dancing, vendors, and lots of guilt-inducing food -- and we'll be there to tell the world about it by radio, transmitting on or near 7.210 MHz. Ham radio operators who check in with our special event station on 40 meters will be able to get a special certificate commemorating the event.

CERTIFICATE/QSL INSTRUCTIONS: Send an e-mail to QSL@nc4ar.org -- be sure to include your callsign and your name as you would like it to appear on your certificate. We'll e-mail your certificate so you can print it. We guarantee it will not get bent or torn in the mail this way!

If you live near Thomasville, be sure to stop by and visit us at the Big Red Caboose to see what amateur radio is all about. There will be club members there to greet you, answer your questions about how to get your FCC license, and show you all the blinking lights and glowing gauges.

If you're already a ham, come down and spend a little time at the microphone. This is a good opportunity for anyone with a Tech license to operate an HF station to his heart's content, since we'll have General and Amateur Extra licensees to act as control operators.
