    R. Kevin Johnson W2RKJ SK

    R. Kevin Johnson of Burlington, and Brother at Burlington City Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 63, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017. He was 60.

    Born in Wrightstown, N.J., he was a lifetime Burlington area resident. Kevin served with the City of Burlington Police Department in the capacity of Patrol Officer, Detective and, for a brief period, acting Lieutenant, until his retirement in 2002. After retiring, he remained with Burlington City as a Court Officer and worked with the Burlington County Bridge Commission as a Patrol Officer. During his career, Kevin also served a detachment to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office as a Narcotics Officer. He also accumulated numerous awards and commendations for service above and beyond the call of duty. He continued his service to the city he loved by serving with the Burlington City Office of Emergency Management. Currently, he was the maintenance foreman with Champion Orthopedics, Burlington.

    Kevin was an airplane pilot and licensed amateur radio operator, enjoyed fishing, hunting, Formula 1 Racing and all forms of aviation, especially space flight.


    To know Kevin was a blessing and he will be missed by many relatives and friends that truly loved him. Rest in peace #9032.

    Son of the late Willie M. and Ortha White Johnson and brother of the late Beulah Denise, Kevin is survived by his wife, Deborah Everhart Johnson; his daughter, Angela Dalton; nephews, Jeremy Bright (Katherine) and Jonathan Johnson; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

    His graveside funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 4527 Rt. 130, Burlington, N.J. Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, at Old Burlington City Hall, 432 High Street, Burlington, N.J.
