Dayton Hamvention® 2024 will be held May 17-19, 2024 at the Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center. The Hamvention® is sponsored by the Dayton Amateur Radio Association (DARA). 2024 logo and theme of “Expanding Our Community” is one that describes every Elmer’s efforts. They give back to the hobby by teaching and encouraging others to either start or expand their radio knowledge. This takes many forms. Some of these are electronic knowledge, new modes of radio communications, learning emergency communication requirements, and finding unrelated fields/hobbies that augment radio communication and knowledge. Experimentation is the bedrock of Amateur Radio. Please watch Michael - W8CI in this short interview explaining what's going with this years Hamvention® at

One of the highlights of my year. Have gone the past two and haven't been disappointed. I never come home empty handed.
The drive across West Virginia, mostly on US-50 for the trip is always one of the things I look forward to every year. Usually take the convertible for the trip. Been super lucky the past few years and have had great weather for the trip. I still kind of miss Hara Arena, at least the mid 1990s version of it, before it turned into a dump. Xenia and the Greene County Fairgrounds have been awesome though. I managed to book the same AirBnB as last year. Little place surrounded by farm fields. I'm okay with this sunrise again.
I'll be giving a talk on my PIER method of circuit analysis. Not glamorous or loaded with bells and whistles, but something every ham can use.
It is spooky how my phone auto-populated my calendar! I have been going to Dayton for as long as I can remember being a ham. I’ve ridden on a bus chartered by a local club or ridden with my dad. Finances have become tight, but how many more chances will I have? thanx for reminding me to put it on my calendar!
Can't wait to be there agin this year. Hats off to the organizers and vendors. They do a splendid job of a big task to ensure all attendees enjoy themselves. VE3YW
