These gentlemen are responsible for the administration of the Dayton Hamvention, the largest Hamfest in the USA. In 2017, Dayton will be at a new venue for the first time in many years because the HARA Arena has been sold and is in the process of being torn down. This has created lots of questions for patrons, manufacturers and vendors that annually attend the Dayton Hamvention. Michael, Jim and Ron give us details of the new venue, how it was chosen and what we can expect from the first year of the Dayton Hamvention located at the Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center .

Move it to Las Vegas. Cheap air fares and rooms, great food and lots to do for the rest of the family. Dayton? Nah.

 

Las Vegas already has a good sized show called NVCON. And I doubt the Dayton Amateur Radio Club would want to host a show in Vegas.

 

Why would you take your kids to a casino, my only reason would be to show them how fools and their money soon part.

 

Kids aren't permitted in the gaming areas. There's arcades for them to play, and lots of exhibits to visit. They can see the Titanic artifacts, the Star Trek Experience as well as many others.

 

So looks to me like then the flea market are is grass? Have you checked the conditions of the ground if it rains? The square feet seems much smaller then the arena. Will vehicles be able to park at their spot? How will spaces be marked and identified? I know, lots of questions.

Yeah...but what happens in Dayton STAYS in Dayton.

 

That would be nice, did not know something like that existed out their. In Indiana the only advertising I have seen for Las Vegas is all about getting liquored up and tossing money away in slot machines or other types of gambling.

 

If you cannot find LOTS for your family to do in Orlando - - -Go back to your CAVE !!!!

 

Unless you buy something. Then it goes home with you.
