    David F. Wood, age 77, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his residence. He was born on May 19, 1946, in Bristol, Va., a son of the late James Franklin and Tiney Mann Wood. David was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and member of the former DAV Chapter 40 Bristol, Va. He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area was a truck driver for Triad Packaging. David was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Wood also served in the Civil Air Patrol. He was a ham radio enthusiast, railroad enthusiast, pyro-technician, sports pilot, and a lifetime member of Hickory Tree Fire Department.


    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Stophel; and brothers, Robert Wood, Ed Wood, and Howard Wood.


    Survivors include his wife, C. Joann Huskey; two daughters; one son; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


    The graveside service for Mr. Wood will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at Eastern Heights Cemetery with Pastor Jason Pickel officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard, DAV Chapter #39. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.


    Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
