Youth on the Air is accepting recycling donations of eclipse glasses for hams and youth in Argentina. Indianapolis, Indiana, April 23rd, 2024—Youth on the Air will be accepting eclipse glasses donations. These recycled eclipse glasses will be sent home with Argentinian campers attending the 2024 YOTA Americas camp so that amateur radio operators and youth can safely watch the Annular Solar Eclipse in October of this year. This is a great opportunity to recycle your unused or gently used glasses while helping your fellow amateur radio operators and youth in the hobby. Donations will be accepted IN PERSON ONLY at the Dayton Hamvention YOTA Booth #4304 from May 17th-19th and at the 2024 YOTA Americas Camp in Halifax, NS, Canada from July 7th-12th. Also, a reminder that applications are still being accepted for the 2024 Youth on the Air Camp until May 30th. The camp, for 15 to 25 year old amateurs, will take place from July 7th through July 12th, 2024, at the Mount Saint Vincent University campus in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. First time attendees are strongly encouraged to apply. For more information and to apply, visit https://youthontheair.org/halifax2024
Any links to an actual donation page/where to send them? I work in a recycling plant, and although I haven't seen but an odd pair or 2 come through yet, I'm sure we'll find some cases when stores clear out the unsold ones.
No thanks, send them to one of the other collections instead like listed here: https://www.space.com/how-to-recycl...s Without, gently used eclipse-viewing glasses. We are intentionally not collecting these by mail. We can only send a limited number in the suitcases.
