Dogs and portable ops go hand in hand. Lance is a SOTApup in training and this is his first Summits on the Air outing. I've heard puppies add 3dB. Lance did great and settled down in my lap as I racked up QSOs. 15 meters was open to Japan and I got my first QSO with Brazil on 10 meters. Fun outing! 73 de Tim N7KOM
Great video!! And how cool working WW7D ... Darryl is a mainstay of the PNW in all of our local events as a longtime Rover station - VHF/UHF contests he's always there, as well as being a Rover class for our Salmon Run QSO party. Your SOTApup is pretty darn adorable What a great friend Dave W7UUU
Fun trip, thanks for sharing. Also, thanks for keeping your pup on leash. Much safer for everyone that way. Looking forward to your next adventure. And can you share the issue with your initial antenna?
Thanks, I really enjoyed this. Given the range of QSOs it's clear that Lance is doing FB as an organic counterpoise We used to car camp with the kids all along the Deschutes back when we lived in Eugene. Some of the most beautiful country to be found. 73, Neil
I miss my Buddy doing things with me like that, he was so companionable, followed me, stay with me, etc. They are extremely good companions. Alas, I lost him in March 2022 and nothing seems right anymore...hope you have loads of fun with Lance being with you!
I miss and think about my previous radio buddy, Roscoe, everyday. Lost him unexpectedly in October 2022. Hope you have a new companion soon.
Another one in the books Tim, as always excellent video and CW contacts. Looks like the SOTA Pup will be a keeper. 73' De N7KO
