During plague times, there were many cases of rich people trying to avoid the plague by moving to somewhere else. Ironically, they were often already infected, and brought the infection with them. Those trying to escape the plague, often brought the plague.

I think in some ways this is relevant.

The Chinese radio setup left earth to leave behind RFI, only to bring it with them.

FILTERS? We don need no stinkin' FILTERS!

 

Its nearly not possibel to hide and find places without RFI. Its not only the human signals, there is the Sun too. And to hide in the solarsystem, what is "ruled" by the middle, is not to manage. The biggest generator of signals is the Sun by itself. And the signals will stop when its getting intergalactic. But the chinese try now just confirmed the theory after we knew it since Voyager left the solarsystem.
