I'm a little surprised too, but the question is "how good is good enough". The 3000 is rated 2 dB better than my Ten Tec Omni VI+, which is my new standard of comparison. The Omni does everything I need it to do in the receiver department. Would I hear the improvement if I moved up to something a lot higher on the list? Maybe, but at what price? I have an R4C sitting on the bench. I will have to compare it to the Omni someday. He rates the R4C with an add on filter much higher.
