I have a Zumspot hotspot and it tends to run at about 110 degrees. Is this typical and what is the danger level for temp for this little hotspot.

110 F is not very hot. 110 C is to hot for most electronics.

    140 F / 60 C is on the edge of needing cooling.

Assuming you're looking at the temp display in the Pi-Star dashboard, 110F is fine. The background of the temp window is normally green and it will change to orange if it goes above a predetermined level (120 or 125, I forget which). If it goes high enough it may turn red, I've never seen it that hot.
I'm not sure what temp is actually being monitored, I don't think it's the Pi CPU because I haven't seen any change after adding a heat sink to the Pi.

Note this is not Zumspot-specific but applies to any Pi-Star based hotspot.
