    Thanks for the explanation Cortland. Just a short while ago I just heard my radios sidetone for the first time and its a little high for me, so I'll have to adjust that so its pleasant. I don't have a key yet - will be sending the cheque off for one on Monday. Most people I have spoken to said there is no rush to get one when you are learning CW, as its the copying thats harder to "get" apparently. I'm using the G4FON programme and its going OK, as long as I do 20-25 minutes a day progress is good.

    On thing that was said to me, is that when I DO get the key I should practice sending about as many minutes as I practice copying - as its more enjoyable and balances out the fun factor.
