    Thanks everyone for all the ideas. The neon bulb is a new one to me and I'm going to give it a try. Either that or move to a warmer climate since as I write this it is -19 degrees.

    81F here today and with the Aroura from the sun, I guess that means SPF 50 today before tennis. [​IMG]

    ps:  I like Tom's idea of a clothing anti static spray around the house, although zapping the wife might be interesting.

    I built one of the little boxes mentioned by kd7eze and it is terrific. Sits on the desk and discharges all static electricity with no zap. Neon light flashes and all works fine. A really simple solution to a big pain in the neck. About 3 bucks for a small project box and 2 something for a couple of neon lights at Radion Shack. (had a 1meg. resistor).
