    Hello friends,

Sorry for my ignorance, but is there any way I can any control software with my FT857D without using the CAT port.

The thing is that I have a Tuner plugged in, using the CAT rear connection.

Does your Tuner have a CAT thru port ?

    Good Luck on your project.

nope, tuner on, no CAT available...

only way is to use the radio without the tuner, and this out of question, since I use a multi-band antenna.. .

Sounds like using the mic connection may be the best solution.

    Hi,
as you know it, many renowned tuners such as the LDG-Z11Pro2 etc... use the FT-857/FT-897 ACC port via an Y-ACC cable very simple to make with only 2 stereo jacks.
Unfortunatly in your case there is still a nice solution which is to use the front MIC jack in which the CAT functionality is replicated through the MENU 59 of your transceiver. It is a very smart and convenient solution and you have only to build a adapter (not too difficult with a little care) or to find it. And it works.
Here are the links for the accurate explanation of the "CAT-MIC" solution :

    Good luck and Best Regards,

Sorry for Don KA9JLM, I was writing my post at the same time !
