    Inrad makes a 6.0 khz filter for am on this radio but i can't find any info on what has to be done to install it in the cw position.Have done a google search and found very little info.Can anyone help me out here?Thanks
    Never mind it comes with instructions from inrad..lol

    Dunno about InRad and FT101.... sure have fitted InRads to TS2000's ya' gotta stick it on the side and use screened wires to connect, WHY.... cos it's four or five times bigger - the result on receive is fantastic making the audio more pleasent to listen to. In the TS2000 case it only works on RX the TX section has it's own filter which is not the case for the FT101.

    You'd just need to move the wire on the Mode switch that feeds DC to the diode switching, so that it sends it in the AM position, rather than the CW position.

    Then you can simply fit the AM filter in the CW filter position (no mods on the Filter board would be necessary)

    This is very simple on the original FT101 series . . . so presume it's equally simple on the FT101Z versions.
