Yaesu FT-891 wont turn on

I recently got myself a Yaesu FT-891 but found myself having issues with it after trying to set up WSJT-X. I attempted a firmware update on it but wasn't able to get it through to the radio. Now after unplugging the USB cable from my computer to the radio, it will not turn on. Even after trying the power supply with another radio, I cannot get this one to show any sign of life. If anyone has any help it would be greatly appreciated.

 

If you do all 3 firmware updates again exactly according to instructions, your TRX should run again.

That's the problem, whenever I try to run the updates it keeps giving me "error on COM port" super frustrating, and I'm using the "Enhanced COM port"
I followed the manual and still nothing.

 

Maybe it helps to try with another PC?

I seem to have solved it by just unplugging and plugging the USB cable back into the radio over and over. I got it to work by pure luck, and it's safe to say I'm never updating the firmware on a radio ever again

 

Very good. Su should regularly update the firmware so that you get routine...
