Been on the shelf for quite a while. After trying to power direct from shack supply, as done before, there is no sign of life when switching on. Is there a backup battery somewhere deep inside the beast, or should I consider it a lost cause?
    Thanks in advance

I'll be interested in seeing what you find out. Getting it apart isn't all that tough though. Mine is off frequency a bit on the 440 side so I was going to replace the capacitors. It's fun to have a radio that doubles as a weapon!

Where did you get your batteries?

It may just be the power Jack.

It has the original batteries - but I am connecting directly to the power pins on the battery connector. Batteries are most likely shot as it's been a decade or so since I used it. Planning to use it stationary with external power.
