Recently, I decided to switch my FT-60 from memory channel mode to VFO mode,. Try as I might to use the F/M key switch into shift into VFO mode, the radio won't.

No doubt this is a cockpit error, but I don't know what it is.

I'll blame it on my age (72) and go from there.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Regards,

Is there a padlock visible on the display? If so, push FW then 6 to unlock.

Is there any chance the radio was started in memory-only mode? If so, the V/M key won't beep when you press it, and when you turn the radio on, you'll hear five tones (three tones means it is NOT in memory-only mode). If it is in memory only mode you can fix this by turning it off, holding the moni button while turning it on, rotating the dial until you see F1-SETRST, then pressing the FW button.

Are you trying the V/M button or the F/W button? There is no button labeled F/M on the FT-60.
