Yaesu FT-2800M PTT Beep

I have recently acquired an FT-2800M. Everytime I key the mic it beeps. This quite annoying. I have looked through the manual and can not find any referance to this beeping problem. I anyone knows of a solution to this, please reply.

Beep?

From page 18 of the manual

1. Press and hold in the [MHz (SET)] key for one second, then rotate the DIAL knob to select "03 BEEP."
2. Press the [MHz (SET)] key, then rotate the DIAL knob to set the display to "OFF"
3. Press and hold in the [MHz (SET)] key for one second to save your new setting and exit to normal operation.

The other menu that talks about a beep is 12.

 

Make sure Wires is not activated. Press the wires button on the front of the rig to turn it off if it is. Or the 0 key may do the same.
