I have a Yaesu FT 227 that was my father’s. I think he bought it in the late ‘70’s. I have been using it for the past three years. I had a Com-Spec SS-64 CTCSS Encoder installed so I can use the local repeater. The radio worked great until recently. My handheld device indicates that the transmitting frequeny is correct, the CTCSS frequency is correct but the radio is only putting our .2 watt at the antenna. It needs repair. Does anyone have a recommendation? I would prefer to have the radio repaired locally but I can send it out. I live in the Fredericksburg, Va area. Thanks. 73
Ask Bill, N4ATS if he has time to look at your radio. https://www.n4ats.com/n4ats.html Realize that IF the Final transistors are bad (circa late 1970s), replacements might not be available (40+ years later). gb
