I use the Navigator as the interface between my rig and the computer. I'd like to keep using both while using the WSJT-X software; however the FT-1000D uses the LSB/Packet mode for AFSK driven modes. Do I need a second set of cables with a microphone plug so that I can be in USB and work FT-4 or send a bit of WSPR? Appreciate any insight. Don - KA6AKH
I haven't had a FT-1000D for 15 years or so, but are you certain that pushing the PKT button a second time doesn't put it into USB mode?
I'm using an FT-1000D for FT8 and used it for WSPR. Both modes work fine by manually selecting USB on the rig. Audio is fed from the PC out to a distribution amplifier which I use as a central grounding point. The DA sets the level necessary to drive the mic amp.
