With any luck, only the fuse.

Sounds like you turned it on without defeating the cover safety interlock. Don't do that.

Actually, if you're not sure what you're doing, don't ever remove the cover without the AC power cord unplugged.

You'll have blown up the resistor that is there to discharge any residual HT when you remove the mesh on top of the PA compartment. Obviously you should never do that with the power on !

Hopefully you haven't done any other damage, although you may have blown some of the rectifier diodes.

As others have said, you really should read through the Manual before you do anything (if you didn't get one with the Amp, you can easily download one online)

And you are much better doing resistance checks with the power OFF than doing anything with the power on. You need to be very careful, as one mistake with these kind of voltages and you will be Silent Key.

    And please answer these questions:

    1. Are the Links in the right place for the Mains voltage you are using?

    2. What does the HV voltage meter read?

    3. Does the relay go over REGARDLESS which position the STANDBY/OPERATE switch is in?

    4. What is the PA Standing current?

What's the HV meter indicate "in the middle?"

Shouldn't the HV be around 2400Vdc? What's it indicate?

    Where the red line is?

That indicates trouble somewhere. It could be a few things. How comfortable are you with a multimeter and soldering iron?

I can only judge the situation with the pictures you posted, but it looks like that amp has seen hard times and a corrosive environment. It will take some careful work to get it going.

I think you better not do that.

If the meter has 2 in the center it sounds like the meter has been replaced.

    Is this jumper installed ?
