ok this doesn't work either. Even though the coax to the input of the tubes is grounded, it still wants to take off and draw power. This is defiantly no good. I'm just gonna live with the 1.5 pass-thru match, forget it.
We experienced poor SWR readings on one of these on all bands with a SWR meter in the feed from the radio we were using as an exciter. Many sites saying change caps on coils, did this, no better. We then removed caps on one coil at a time and replaced with ceramic trimmers, adjusted for zero swr, measured the values required and fitted as near to the found value a possible. Now all is well with the amp, values were quite a lot different from circuit. cheers MM0HDW
It would be a good idea to publish the values of the caps needed for each band as this is a universal problem with these amps.
