Love this radio but it has become deaf... took it out a truck working fine a few years ago, and when I went to install it this past week I discovered it has lost all receive sensitivity. with squelch off I can just hear receive on simplex from another radio inches away form antenna, I can bring up local repeaters, but there again barely hear them, and only with squelch off... any ideas?

Oh yes before you ask I did a hard reset of the CPU and looked to see all menu setting were back to factory defaults as per manual....

First thing I'd do is find someone with a service monitor, and check the unit out on the bench.

Switch to narrowband and see if your recieve comes back. If so then it's your wideband filter thats gone bad. Mine went out a few years ago. Here's a thread that has some details. Its a pretty easy repair, just do a goodle search for the radio's service manual. It actually has a section on troubleshooting this particular issue.
