Sorry to hear this news, Rafa. I met your parents in Nogales (Sonora) at a ham gathering a couple of miles south of the US border in May 1997, and saw them again a few years later at another ham gathering in Imuris (Sonora - about 45 miles south of Nogales and the US border). Your father was a real gentleman. I have a picture from the Imuris gathering in 2003. This isn't a high-resolution picture, but you can see where he was on the right end of the line of hams standing in front of the big sign. (This picture was on the outside of the folding QSL card for 4A2Q) The special-event call sign 4A2Q was used on the HF bands, as well as the UO-14 satellite, from a baseball field and other locations in Imuris. This was when foreign hams could get Mexican amateur permits; I had my XE2/WD9EWK permit a few months before this event, and was listed as one of the operators on the paperwork for the 4A2Q permit. I didn't work satellites then; Alex XE2BSS (now also N2IX) handled the UO-14 passes. I worked a bit of HF, and had fun down there. ยก73!
