XE1GY (SK) Last surviving founder of CREO, A.C.

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Jesús Castellanos XE1GY age 93--the last surviving founding member of the Club de Radioexperimentadores de Occidente, A.C. Founded in 1933 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, it is probably the the oldest ham club in México. Certainly Jesús was the oldest ham operating here in XE.

Originally licensed as X1GY in 1933, Jesús became XE1GY in the 1934-35 restructuring period.

He will be remembered by his colleagues here and abroad.
